From Mediocre to Magnificent: Confronting the Mediocre Culture in 2023
I want you to ask yourself…
— How easy is it to succeed in the current marketplace?
— Is it still competitive to succeed in your industry?

@CLASS OF ONE With Jace England.
Confidence is one of the greatest assets to have nowadays.
Why? Because so many people lack it.
If you find any pride in what you do, and you’ve had success, you can be influential.
In fact, in a world full of “influencers,” It’s never been easier to be influential.
My motivation to write on this topic was one question that I was getting asked over and over again by my peers:
“How are you so good at speaking?”
As i’ve drifted into the rewarding marketplace of personal video content, i’ve been showcasing my ideas.
A podcast is a great way to give people RAW personality and value with little effort.
My secret to being a great speaker is general excitement, confidence, and an abundance of ideas to share.
You were given vocal cords for an important reason — communication is an indicator of confidence.
Because humans are naturally judgmental creatures, if you are not able to present yourself, people will respect you less.
And because speaking is a God-given ability, and I distinctly blame modern day habits, inclusivity, and lifestyle as blame for poor speaking skills, poor speaking skills are a a characteristic of mediocrity.
So Many Men Are Living in Mediocrity Nowadays
Mediocrity is like a toxic feeling in the air that I can’t have around me.
What is mediocrity?
Mediocrity not only refers to the quality or state of being mediocre; but a person of mediocre ability.
And since there is nobody in between the scale of success and failure, and there is only rich and poor, there must only be mediocre and exceptional.
In the same scale, people tend to overlook the fact that there are people who are optimists about everything, and there are people who don’t believe in themselves.
But around people like me, I’ve almost got to have it all.
Before I get into the characteristics of mediocrity, I want to say something.
If you master confidence, you only have to worry about getting the meetings or within the presence of people. Others have to worry to that and finding the confidence to speak to the person.
You sir are at a great advantage with this skill.
There is little competition today. There’s an abundance of mediocre people.
Many people have lost their competitive nature, but people like me, need that to keep going.
But absolute killers in business understand how little competition there is.
And luckily, we live in a world where the fittest survive, and you reap what you sow. So many successful people who have built big things are giving—but even they have little time for mediocrity.
And the standard to be strong, hardworking, competitive, problem-solving, etc., at least in Entrepreneurship, will never go away.
And you know how I know there is little competition?
BECAUSE OF ALL THE DUMB QUESTIONS I AM ASKED.
I have mentally matured myself to a point where it doesn’t make me sad anymore seeing people live below their potential—I see it a lot.
But mediocrity doesn’t apply to you when you ignore the noise and you work hard. It only applies to those who work less than what they’re capable of.
"The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it."
- Michelangelo
Why are so many men living in mediocrity?
Although it looks like everyone is in business these days, so many people are lost and/or not trying.
On their end, they lose their drive on “I don’t know how.” On our end, there’s not enough people giving valuable information.
The truth is, people that aren’t motivated by opportunity with a semi-clear path, won’t be motivated by you laying out the entire path.
So give all the value away for free →
Gain an audience of trustworthy people →
And create another life for yourself while helping people.
Another Hormozi plug :)
